Celebrate Fishel’s and Esther’s 25 Years in Chaplaincy!
Rabbi Fishel Cohen with his wife Esther came to Birmingham in August 1984 as chaplain of the Midlands Region, being responsible for religious and pastoral support to the Jewish students at the Universities in the area – including those in Birmingham, Warwick, Wolverhampton, Derby, Coventry, Loughborough, Leicester and Nottingham. Over the last 25 years thousands of students have come into contact with the Cohens and benefitted from their support and hospitality.
We therefore celebrate 25 years of dedicated service to the student population.
On Sunday 16th May 2010 a celebratory dinner in honour of Fishel and Esther was held which was a great success. This website contains links to the video shown at that event and photos taken at the dinner.
The MRCB has also compiled a Book of Tributes from past students and supporters using contributions captured via this website and on the night of the dinner, and interspersed with photos taken at the dinner. This was presented by the Chief Rabbi Lord Sacks at a reception in Birmingham University on 8th June.
